ABOUT MY FITNESS JOURNEY
I have always had a passion for fitness and helping others. In college I chose to study human nutrition, foods, and exercise, but at the time I had no idea I’d make a whole career of it. When I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2012, I made the decision to pursue my passion. I became an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and set my sights on a career in fitness. I spent 10 years working as a personal trainer in Blacksburg, VA. I’ve worked with clients ages 11-92 and a wide range of experience levels (from people who have never stepped foot in a gym to collegiate athletes at the top of their game). I recently relocated to the Raleigh-Durham area and am currently accepting new clients.
I’ve worked hard to continue learning and developing my professional knowledge over the years. I earned my USAW Sports Performance Coach certification so I could lead my clients through olympic lifts and better develop their overall strength. I became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA so I could appropriately train high-performing athletes and seasoned weight-lifters. I earned my certification as an ACSM Exercise Physiologist in order to prescribe exercise and lifestyle regimens to those with controlled metabolic or cardio respiratory disease. Most recently, I returned to school (working late nights after sessions) and completed my Master’s degree in Exercise Science from Liberty University.
My own passion for fitness and desire to challenge myself has led me to compete in natural bodybuilding. I started in 2015, earning my pro card in my first show. Most recently, I placed 4th in the world at the OCB Yorton Cup.
I started “Body by Booth” in 2019 so I could reach more clients through virtual coaching and could offer more holistic exercise and nutrition coaching (outside of personal training sessions), including competition prep coaching for those looking to step on stage.
